Hip and Shoulder Pain

Common hip issues that I frequently see in my office are:

  • Tendinosis, tendonitis, trigger points
  • Partial tears of the gluteal muscles
  • Osteoarthritis and bursitis
  • Hip Capsule tightness
  • Muscle imbalance around the hip and core
  • Foot issues that affect the hip (and knee)

Shoulder complaints that I see in my office are:

  • Tendinosis, tendonitis, trigger points
  • Partial tears of the rotator cuff muscles
  • Osteoarthritis and bursitis
  • Adhesive capsulitis (Frozen shoulder)
  • Postural issues that stress the shoulder
  • Muscle imbalance around the shoulder, chest and upper back

Like other parts of the body, doing a careful examination helps us find not only the area of injury, but also potentially other areas of the body where dysfunction is affecting and driving the pain at your hip or shoulder.

I frequently treat injuries of the shoulder and hip with joint mobilization, massage, Graston myofascial release, cupping, kinesiotaping, and rehabilitative exercises.
